Michael Turnbell
Hello. I am Michael Turnbell. I live in Building 1311, Unit 202. I moved to Poinsettia Landings in April 2009, so I am perhaps one of the community's newest owners. I am interested in serving on the Poinsettia Landings Condominium Association board.I am a reporter at the Sun Sentinel and WSFL-TV. I cover transportation for the newspaper and The Morning Show on Comcast Ch. 11. I am quite knowledgeable about railroads and trains, including plans someday for the Florida East Coast Railway to have as many as four tracks in their right of way(there is one track now as it passes by our property) for a new passenger rail service. The project will include a study to identify crossings that should either be closed or upgraded with new gates that would allow what's called a "quiet zone," meaning trains would no longer be required to blow their horns. I am sure that is something that will be of great interest to our neighbors and friends in the villas next to the tracks. I chose to buy in Poinsettia Landings last year because I thought it was an attractive, wellmaintained community with friendly people. I love it here. I'd like to do whatever I can to help make sure it stays that way by volunteering on the board. I think my experience as a reporter and covering local government would serve me well. Thank you.

Douglas Lipsey
Hi everyone Douglas Lipsey here. I am currently your treasurer and a current board member for our association. I want to continue to be on the board and in my role as Treasurer so that we continue to have a financially sound, well run community. My areas of focus this first year have been to get a handle on our budget, improve our insurance coverage and begin building an overall understanding of the requirements of board members in running an association. A great many areas in overseeing the operations of the association have taken a great deal of time and work to get into place. We are still in the process of getting enough help to accomplish all the goals of meeting the needs of the community but I have great faith that we can continue building on what has been accomplished in this first year to further develop the necessary procedures and tools to run this association smoothly. Working to maintain this great community that is well cared for at an affordable cost to all of us is my main intention in wanting to continue as a member of the board of directors for PLCA.
Thank You.
